Where ORRA Has Found a Home

When I started Orra, I had a picture in my head of where I wanted our seaweed baths to end up.

Beautiful bathrooms. Hotel rooms. Spas. Places where people had genuinely made the decision to stop for a while, switch off and do something good for themselves.

Of course, I wanted Orra to bring that experience into people’s homes too. But I always loved the idea of our products becoming part of a stay away. Particularly here in Ireland, where the sea and our connection to it are such a big part of what people come to experience.

Over the past year, that little idea has slowly started to become a reality.

Orra can now be found in a growing number of hotels and spas, each incorporating our products in their own way. And seeing something that started with me harvesting seaweed on the West Coast of Ireland sitting on a hotel shelf, beside a bath, or becoming part of someone’s stay is still quite a surreal feeling.

So, I thought it was about time I introduced you to the places where Orra has found a home.

The Brehon, Killarney : Anú Spa

Set against the backdrop of Killarney National Park, The Brehon has a real sense of place. From the landscape that has inspired the hotel itself to the nature-led approach of Anú Spa.

For Orra, it feels like a very natural home. Our seaweed is hand-harvested here in Kerry, so there’s something particularly special about seeing it travel from the coastline to Killarney and become part of the experience for people visiting this corner of Ireland.

You’ll find Orra Seaweed Baths and our Seaweed Infused Body Oil at Anú Spa, ready to take home and continue a little of that slower, Kerry feeling long after your stay.

The Rose Hotel, Tralee: Serenity Spa

There’s something particularly nice about seeing Orra so close to home. The Rose Hotel sits in the heart of Tralee, and has become a place where our products can be discovered by visitors to Kerry and locals alike.

Both our Seaweed Baths and Seaweed-Infused Body Oil have a home here, and I still love seeing them sitting on the shelves. Orra might be inspired by the wildness of the West Coast, but having it represented here, in our own corner of Kerry, feels just as special.

Brook Lane Hotel, Kenmare

There’s a lovely independent feel to Brook Lane Hotel. Family-owned and based in the heart of Kenmare, there’s a real emphasis on local. From the food they serve to the makers and producers they choose to support.

That made it a particularly lovely fit for Orra. Our Seaweed Baths and Seaweed-Infused Body Oil are both part of Brook Lane’s retail offering, giving guests the chance to discover something made here in Kerry and take a little of the West Coast home with them.

For me, that’s exactly where I hoped Orra would find its place, amongst other thoughtfully chosen Irish products, being discovered by people while they’re here experiencing Kerry for themselves.

And for a brand that started with a pair of wellies, the Atlantic and an idea, seeing Orra find its way into hotels still feels pretty special.

Here's to seeing where it’s next discovered.
