Harvesting Season Has Begun

There's something special about this time of year.

As summer arrives on Ireland's west coast, so does the beginning of our seaweed harvesting season. Living by the Atlantic means the changing seasons shape much of what we do, and each summer we look forward to harvesting the wild seaweed that becomes our signature seaweed baths.

Seaweed follows its own natural rhythm throughout the year, and summer is the ideal time for harvesting. With longer daylight hours and warmer waters, it enters an active period of growth, drawing nutrients from the Atlantic and developing the naturally occurring compounds that have made seaweed bathing a treasured Irish wellness tradition for generations. By harvesting during this season, we gather the seaweed at its very best before carefully preserving it for you to enjoy at home.

Every harvest is completed by hand, taking the time to carefully gather the seaweed while respecting the coastline that provides it. It's a slower, more considered approach, but one that reflects our commitment to quality, sustainability, and preserving this long-standing Irish tradition.

Each harvest is then gently hand-dried, helping to preserve the seaweed's natural goodness before it is carefully prepared for your bath. From the moment it leaves the Atlantic to the moment it reaches your home, every step is carried out with care.

For us, harvesting isn't simply about gathering seaweed. It's about continuing a tradition and taking the time to do things properly. Every seaweed bath begins with careful hands, fresh Atlantic air, and a deep respect for the coastline that has inspired generations before us.

As this year's harvesting season begins, we're reminded why we do what we do. There's something incredibly rewarding about following the same seasonal rhythm year after year, knowing that each harvest will eventually become part of someone's moment of rest and restoration.

From our home on Ireland's West Coast to your bath, every bag of Orra seaweed is hand-harvested, hand-dried, and carefully prepared by us, allowing you to experience one of Ireland's oldest wellness traditions in its most authentic form.
