So, Why Orra?
I’ve been thinking about seaweed baths for years — not just taking them, but how to share the ritual in a way that feels true to where it comes from, and relevant to where we are now.
Growing up with Irish roots, seaweed bathing was something I always knew about. It wasn’t trendy. It wasn’t something you booked at a fancy spa. It was just this deeply natural, nourishing thing people did — to feel better, to heal, to come back to themselves. I’ve always carried that with me.
But it wasn’t until I became a mum that the idea for Orra really took shape — slowly and intentionally, kind of like a seaweed bath.
Bringing a little person into the world shifted everything. It made me want to create something with actual meaning. Not just a product, not just a brand — something with intention. Something that felt like me. Something I could pour love, care, and purpose into. That’s what Orra is.
It’s taken time — probably more time than it needed to — but that was the point. I didn’t want to rush it. I wanted every part of the experience to feel considered: the product, the ritual, the packaging, the feeling you get when you open the box. I wanted you to love it as much as I do.
So this space — the blog — is where I’ll be sharing the behind-the-scenes, the story, the seaweed stuff (obviously), and the things that help me slow down, feel human, and breathe a bit deeper.
Thanks for being here.
